Life’s too short to treat symptoms.

Most of healthcare is designed to chase and treat illness. When we divorce care from diagnosis codes and reimbursable procedures we are able to truly see the person in front of us and help in any way we can to improve the quality of their life.

Measure

Utilization isn't an outcome. Let's talk about quality of life, performance, tenure, health and wellbeing.

HUMAN CONDITION MANAGEMENT

“Ask not what disease the person has, but what person the disease has.”

- Sir William Osler

This concept was made famous by the Father of Modern Medicine more than a century ago. It’s time to revolutionize ‘condition management’ to focus on moving the needle on quality of life. The human condition is never-ending; our approach transcends conditions to engage and support individuals at any stage of their wellbeing journey. We meet them where they are, but we never leave them there.

QUALITY OF LIFE

The new bar.

Quality of life is a concept that goes well beyond the typical bio-metric markers of health by honoring the intrinsic needs, motivations, and circumstances unique to every person. To put it more simply, quality of life is the degree to which an individual or group is healthy, comfortable, and able to enjoy the activities of daily living.

At Humankind, this is our North Star.

What is quality of life?

Measuring quality of life is the key to evaluating and improving happiness, performance, and success in and out of the workplace. It provides the critical lens needed to get a person’s buy-in on things that matter to them so we can help them achieve real, meaningful progress.

We use internationally validated surveys that are designed to work cross-culturally, assessing quality across four domains: physical health, psychological well-being, social relationships, and environment. These measure an individual’s subjective well-being as it relates to their expectations, goals, and concerns.

MEASURES THAT MATTER

A WIDER LENS

Going beyond the social
determinants of health.

We know how critical social and emotional factors are to overall health and well-being, yet 99% of health interactions fail to acknowledge this important context, let alone address these problems. Z-codes, when used, by default exclude the portion of the population that avoids care altogether. We prioritize and address these critical barriers for a workforce, and the result is better outcomes overall.
